Diamonds Are Not Forever
As a lover of sparkly things I can relate to the allure of diamonds. But it seems like De Beers is trying to shake off its past glory by spinning off amidst all these takeover bids. It's like me saying 'I'm sorry the old De Beers can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh because it's being restructured!'
Pressure Makes Diamonds
It's clear that CEO Duncan Wamblad is feeling the pressure from shareholders to make some drastic changes. But hey pressure makes diamonds right? In this case it's more like pressure makes De Beers spin off.
Shaking It Off
Just like in my song 'Shake It Off,' Anglo American seems to be shaking off those takeover bids like a pro. It's like they're saying to BHP 'Cause the players gonna play play play play play...And the haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate...'
Sparkly Strategy
The strategic overhaul that Anglo American is undertaking reminds me of when I decided to re record my old albums. Sometimes you just need to shake things up to bring out the shining gems or in this case the value for shareholders.
Diamonds in the Rough
While De Beers may have once been a diamond in the rough it seems like the market has shifted towards other alternatives. It's like when everyone started listening to my re recorded albums instead of the originals. Change is inevitable even in the world of sparkle and shine.
