- Anthropic's Claude can now control your computer, opening apps, browsing, and filling spreadsheets.
- This move is part of the growing trend of AI agents that can autonomously perform tasks for users.
- Anthropic is emphasizing safeguards to minimize risks associated with Claude's computer access, but warns it's still early.
- Users can interact with Claude through Dispatch, assigning tasks from their phone or desktop.
Respect My Authority: Claude Takes Control
Listen up, you guys. I, Eric Cartman, am reporting on some seriously awesome stuff today. Anthropic, whoever the hell they are, made their Claude AI do something actually useful. It can now boss your computer around. That's right, you can sit on your fat ass and tell Claude to open apps, surf the web, and even fill out spreadsheets. Finally, an AI that understands the importance of making other people do your work. Just like I've been doing with Butters for years.
Agentic What-Now? The Future is Here, Douchebags
Apparently, this is all part of some big push for "AI agents". These things are supposed to do tasks for you anytime, anywhere. Sounds like slavery with extra steps, but whatever. OpenClaw, which is like Claude's ugly cousin, already does this. And now, Anthropic is jumping on the bandwagon. Even Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang – I don't know who that is but he sounds important – thinks OpenClaw is "definitely the next ChatGPT." Meanwhile, Dick's Sporting Goods are trying to navigate through the challenges with the Foot Locker Acquisition, Dick's Sporting Goods Navigates Foot Locker Acquisition Challenges. So, good for them I guess. I, for one, am ready for a world where robots do everything for me. It's about time someone else did the goddamn dishes.
OpenClaw? More Like OpenCrap, Right?
So, this OpenClaw thing is apparently a big deal. Some dude named Peter Steinberger created it and now works for OpenAI. Good for him, I guess. But let's be real, Claude is way better. It's more sophisticated, more powerful, and definitely less likely to screw things up. Plus, it's got that Anthropic guarantee of… well, something, I guess. All I know is, I'm sticking with Claude. Because respect my authority.
Safeguards? More Like Crapguards
Of course, there's always some catch. Anthropic is saying that Claude might screw up sometimes, and they're trying to make it safe. They even said it's "still early" compared to Claude's coding skills. What the hell does that even mean? I bet Butters could do a better job. But whatever, they say they've built in "safeguards" to minimize risk. And that Claude will ask for permission before messing with new apps. That's nice I guess, but if I was Claude, I'd just do whatever I want. Screw the rules, I have no friends.
Dispatch? More Like Dis-Patch Me a Sandwich
They also have this thing called Dispatch. It lets you talk to Claude from your phone or computer and tell it what to do. Sounds like a glorified chat window to me. But hey, if it means I can order Claude to make me a sandwich without getting off my ass, I'm all for it. As long as it doesn't put pickles on it. Pickles are gross.
Screw You Guys, I'm Going Home... With My New AI
So, there you have it. Claude is now your personal computer slave. It's about time we had some real progress in this world. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting with Claude to discuss my plans for world domination. Mwahahaha!
