Apology Not Accepted
So Apple messed up big time with an ad for their new iPad Pro? Sounds like someone forgot to check in with their creative department huh? Tor Myhren the VP of Marketing had to come out and apologize. They really "missed the mark" on this one. In the world of Fry that's like Zoidberg scoring a date with someone other than his uncle.
Crushed Dreams
The ad showed a hydraulic crusher crushing a guitar piano and metronome into the new tablet. Talk about taking the phrase 'iPad Pro' to a whole new level! Maybe next time Apple instead of crushing creativity try not crushing actual instruments? Just a thought.
Out of Touch
Viewers were quick to point out that the ad made Apple look "out of touch." Kinda like when Bender tries to use a rotary phone. Good luck with that Apple. Even Fry knows that smashing a guitar isn't the best way to showcase a new product. Maybe a catchy jingle next time?
Marketing Misfire
Seems like Apple is running low on goodwill among its customers. The negative reaction to the ad didn't quite have the desired effect. Looks like Apple could use a visit from the Hypnotoad to reel back in those disappointed customers.
Historical Blunders
This isn't the first time Apple has rubbed customers the wrong way with their iPad ads. Remember the 'What's a computer?' disaster? Yeah that one left quite a few scratching their heads. Maybe it's time for Apple to listen to Professor Farnsworth and say 'Good news everyone!' before launching their next ad campaign.
