- AMD's CEO Lisa Su attributes a significant forecast revision to the surging demand for CPUs, primarily driven by the growth of agentic artificial intelligence.
- First-quarter revenue increased by 38% year-over-year, with the data center business being the primary driver, according to Su.
- AMD has revised its forecast for the server CPU market, now expecting it to exceed 35% annual growth, reaching a $120 billion market by the end of the decade.
- Despite the rapid growth and capacity constraints in the semiconductor industry, AMD is confident in its ability to meet customer demand through its world-class supply chain.
Great Success AMD Rides the Wave of Agentic AI
Jagshemash, my name is Borat Sagdiyev, and I come to you with most exciting news. AMD, yes, the company that makes the computer brains, is seeing boom like Kazakhstan after discovering oil. Their leader, Lisa Su, says the agentic AI is making everyone want more CPUs. Is like when I try to explain to my neighbor how to use internet, but he just wants to download picture of Pamela Anderson. Very nice.
Data Center Business is Very Nice
AMD revenue jump 38 percent because of the data center business. This is very impressive. Like when I learn to drive car, but instead of driving, I just make it go in circle and yell, "Wawaweewa". But seriously, the AMD is making big progress, like my sister Tursen with her…never mind. This increase is very good news for all involved, and you can learn more about similar industry trends in this AI Data Center Boom Fuels a New Gold Rush for Skilled Trades.
Market Set to Explode, Not Like My Exploding Toilet
AMD say that server CPU market to grow by 35 percent each year. By end of decade, the market be worth $120 billion. This is big number, like my monthly water bill after I try to fill swimming pool with tap water. It is a great time to be involved in computers, much better than being involved in making movie with American comedian where everyone makes fun of my country. Very sad.
Chip Supply: Tight, But AMD Got This
Lisa Su say that chip supply is tight, but AMD have "world class supply chain". This is good news. Like when I say I have a world class tennis game, but then I hit ball into my own face. But I trust Lisa Su more than I trust myself with tennis racket. She knows her stuff, she is expert. She built great business, like when I tried to build house, but it fell down after one day.
Analysts Go Wild, Price Target Soars
Goldman Sachs they say AMD is good investment. They raise the price target from $240 to $450. This is great success for AMD. It means that my small investment in AMD (from money I made selling hair from my chest) will become big investment. Maybe I can finally afford new tracksuit. Very nice. This is also good expert signal to investors to trust AMD, not like trusting gypsy to fix your car.
The Future Is Agentic, Just Like My Wife
The agentic AI is driving the CPU demand. Lisa Su says that AI is the future. I don't know much about AI, but I know that my wife is very smart and tells me what to do. Maybe that is like agentic AI. Whatever it is, it is good for AMD and maybe it is good for Kazakhstan too. Perhaps they will buy my old Lada for AI research.
