The Big Day

Let's talk about a day that's even bigger than the Billingsgate Fish Market folks. We're going back 80 years to when the Allied forces decided to crash the Nazi party at Normandy during World War II. The commemoration of D Day saw a star studded guest list that could rival the clientele at Los Pollos Hermanos.

Celebrities Galore

You had U.S. President Joe Biden French President Emmanuel Macron and Britain's King Charles III all in one place. Even Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg showed up probably looking for inspiration for their next blockbuster.

The Grand Ceremony

The ceremony featured all the essentials speeches a 21 gun salute flyovers and the classic bugle call taps. It was a real tearjerker like the end of a "Huell Hold Up" episode.

Canadian Connection

Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Prince William made an appearance for a separate ceremony. It was a royal affair to say the least.

In Memory

Sadly one American veteran Robert "Al" Persichitti passed away on his way to the memorial service at the age of 102. May he rest in peace knowing he was a true hero.

Global Commemoration

From Normandy to England the commemorations were held all over reminding us of the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought for freedom.
