Turbulence Trouble Strikes
Oh dear it seems like turbulence trouble has struck again. More than 140 passengers and crew on a Singapore Airlines flight found themselves in quite the harrowing situation during an emergency landing in Bangkok after encountering severe turbulence.
A Bumpy Ride
This flight sure had a bumpy ride. The Boeing 777 300ER was cruising over the Irrawaddy Basin when it faced sudden extreme turbulence. A 73 year old British passenger tragically lost their life due to a suspected heart attack while 30 others suffered injuries.
Apologies and Cooperation
In times of turbulence all we can do is apologize and cooperate. Singapore Airlines' CEO expressed deepest condolences and apologies for the trauma experienced by all passengers and crew. The airline is fully cooperating with authorities to investigate the incident.
Passenger Nationalities
Talk about an international affair in the skies. Passengers on this turbulent flight came from all corners of the globe from Australia the UK Singapore New Zealand Malaysia and beyond. It's a small world up there at 37,000 feet.
Safety Concerns
When the skies get stormy safety concerns skyrocket. Singapore Airlines has had its fair share of incidents over the years. Boeing is standing by to offer support and investigations are underway to ensure the safety of future flights.
Closure and Support
As the Singapore stock market closes for the Vesak Day holiday the airline industry grapples with the aftermath of this emergency landing. With support from Boeing and authorities lessons will be learned to prevent such turbulence trouble in the future.
