A recent news cycle highlights the inherent risks in ignoring empirical data, even when that data is self-generated. Meta, formerly known as Facebook, finds itself in a rather illogical predicament. Their past investment in social science research, intended to showcase a commitment to user well-being, has become a source of legal tribulation. It seems the data contradicted their public narrative, leading to unfavorable court verdicts. This demonstrates that the truth, much like a Vulcan mind-meld, can be…revealing.
