Cerebras Systems' IPO performance underscores the dominance of AI in today's market, overshadowing traditional tech IPOs.
  • AI companies like Cerebras are dominating the IPO market, leaving non-AI tech firms in the shadows.
  • Upcoming IPOs from SpaceX, OpenAI, and Anthropic threaten to dwarf all other tech offerings.
  • SaaS companies are facing challenges as AI models potentially replace their services.
  • The market needs more successful IPOs to encourage other companies to take the plunge.

The Joke's on You Wall Street

Well, well, well, what have we here? Another tech IPO, another feeding frenzy. Cerebras Systems, eh? Sounds like something out of a mad scientist's lab, which, let's be honest, it probably is. They popped almost 70%, they say? Hahahaha! That's cute. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is just the appetizer before the main course. The real chaos is yet to come. Why so serious? Because these AI players think they're changing the game. I'm here to remind them chaos is the game, and I'm always playing.

The Big Boys Are Coming to Play

SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic. Now those are names that get my attention. Trillion-dollar valuations? That's a lot of zeroes to play with. Imagine the mayhem we could cause with that kind of money. It's very hard to care about anything other than the $3 trillion potential IPOs that, in theory, are going to happen in the next year," Sam Lessin said, but I care because the power and the chaos is what I can bring. The market may be a challenge for emerging tech companies but this is just the beginning and it's going to be very fun to see the whole thing unfold. You know, reminds me of a joke I once heard... but some jokes aren't funny when you're the punchline. Haves and Have-Nots

A "story of haves and have-nots," someone said. They are reckoning with the reality that the only thing ginning up excitement is AI, and the vast majority of companies in the pre-IPO category were created well before the launch of ChatGPT and the the start of the generative AI craze. Spot on. It's all about who's riding the AI wave and who's getting crushed by it. SaaS companies? They're yesterday's news. They are concerned that many of their products will be, to some degree, replaced by AI models and agents. Soon, they'll be begging for mercy. But mercy? That's not in my vocabulary. It's simple calculus really. You either adapt, or you get left behind.

The Waiting Game

Rick Heitzmann says companies preparing for IPOs want to see others take the leap first and show that the market is receptive. 'It's going to encourage people to say, 'Hey, jump in, the water's warm,'" he said. Pathetic. Waiting for someone else to test the waters? Where's the fun in that? Where's the risk? Where's the chaos? These companies are playing it safe, and that's the most boring thing in the world. But hey, if they want to be sheep, who am I to stop them? A little chaos is a good thing though, right?

Chips and Rockets and Mayhem, Oh My

Cerebras is riding the silicon renaissance, competing with Nvidia. Good for them. But then there's Musk, merging SpaceX with xAI. Valued at $1.25 trillion? Now that's a blast radius I want to be in. "Nobody wants to be caught in the SpaceX blast radius," someone said. I disagree. I want to be right in the center of it. That's where the real fun begins. Chaos creates more chaos.

Why So Serious?

So, what's the lesson here? The AI boom is here, and it's leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Some will thrive, some will die, but all will be part of the chaos. And as for me? I'll be right here, watching it all burn. After all, isn't that what I do best? I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve. "Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos."
