Run Forrest Run From Tech Woes

Mama always said, "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." Seems like Wall Street got a box of the bitter kind this week especially for tech stocks. I might not know much about fancy algorithms but I know when folks are worried. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq took a tumble for the third day running, and that ain't good news for anyone holding those tech heavy portfolios. It's like Jenny when she can't sit still. The market is restless and shifting away from all those shiny new tech gadgets and into things that are a bit more reliable. Like Bubba Gump Shrimp.

Consumer Stocks Are Like Peas and Carrots

Now, while some folks were running scared from the tech crash, some stocks were doing just fine. The CNBC Investing Club says that stocks connected to us folks who like to buy things like consumers, and the ones that keep us healthy, were doing alright. Bristol Myers Squibb had a pretty good day, almost a 3.5% jump. And Procter & Gamble, the company that makes everything from soap to diapers, also saw a bit of sunshine, up 1%. Makes you think maybe sticking to the basics ain't such a bad idea. Kinda like knowing where your towel is. I wonder what all this movement mean for the US Trade Deficit Soars, Tariffs Fail to Contain Imbalance. I'm sure it is all connected.

Boeing Takes Flight

Remember Lieutenant Dan He was not easily impressed. Even he might crack a smile about Boeing. Amidst all the market turmoil, Boeing shares actually went up nearly 2%. Seems they're talking with Saudi Arabia about selling them a whole bunch of airplanes, like at least 150 of 'em. That's a whole lotta planes. The Citi analysts seem to think Boeing's on the upswing, too. Apparently, they're delivering planes faster than they used to. Maybe they finally figured out how to put 'em together right. And some folks are saying that China might start buying Boeings again, since that Trump fellow seems to be getting along with the Chinese president. Seems like things might be looking up for Boeing, even if it's been a bumpy ride for them lately.

Costco's Gold Rush

Costco is doing mighty fine it seems. Their stock's been climbing, up 15% this year. They had a pretty good January with sales going up and folks buying all sorts of stuff from groceries to gold bars. Yep, you heard right. Costco sells gold bars. Who knew? And Wall Street seems to like what they're seeing, raising their price targets. Seems like Costco is back in the good graces after being seen as a bit of a slowpoke for a while. Maybe that's why Jenny liked them so much, she liked shiny things.

Watching the Horizon Amazon and Cybersecurity

The Investing Club is keeping a close eye on Amazon, especially how they're using that AI stuff to make things cheaper. And Fortinet, a cybersecurity company, is releasing its earnings. Those results might give us a clue about how other cybersecurity companies like Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike are doing. Cyber security is something that everybody needs these days. You gotta protect your shrimp, your boat, and your money, dont you know.

Expert Advice From the Club

This here information comes from the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer. They send out alerts before Jim makes any trades, so you can get a heads up. But remember, nothing's for sure in this world, except maybe taxes and shrimp. And just because they tell you something, doesn't mean it's gonna make you rich. Investing is like a game of ping pong. Requires skill, experience and trust. So do your research, think for yourself, and don't go running into any forests without a map.
