Inspired by My Sis: More Than Just Contouring

Okay, you guys know me. I love a good contour, and a glam moment, but there's more to life than just what filter to use. Last summer, my amazing sister Becky came to me with a cause that's way more important than any KKW Beauty launch. She wanted to build a platform at CNBC to spotlight the 30 million Americans living with a rare disease. I was like, "Becky, that's...intense." But in the best way possible.

Empathy is the New Black: Facing the Challenge

Honestly, at first, I was a little intimidated. It's a big responsibility to give a voice to people who often feel overlooked by the medical community. It's not about 'breaking the internet'; it's about helping people who suffer from diseases that most of us have never even heard of. This is serious. I wasn't sure if I was totally ready to tackle it but I had to learn. We also have another important case that requires a lot of attention Trump's Energy Ultimatum Middle East Tinderbox Ignites and it will be vital for the future generations to understand this.

CNBC Cures: It Takes a Village (and Maybe a Glam Squad)

Thankfully, Becky and I weren't alone. So many people at CNBC rallied behind CNBC Cures. They dedicated their time and talents to this, and it's been so inspiring to see. I've learned so much during this process. They’ve dedicated their time and talents working on something that has inspired everyone connected to it. And because of their efforts, CNBC Cures has seen some early success.

Numbers Don't Lie: The Impact is Real

Since we launched on January 8, we've had well over a dozen stories highlighting the rare disease community. Over 20,000 people have signed up for the CNBC Cures Newsletter which is mind blowing, and we've had thousands of listeners stream episodes of 'The Path with Becky Quick,' the Cures podcast series. Even our social media is blowing up. We're talking millions of views. People are actually paying attention. It's wild and makes me so hopeful.

Warren Buffett, Boomer Esiason, and Me? The Summit of Support

Our first annual CNBC Cures Summit was a major success. I mean, Warren Buffett shaking hands with Boomer Esiason and the CEO of Regeneron Leonard Schleifer? It was kind of iconic. The event sold out so quickly, and the livestream had over 8,000 views. These issues that we're discussing doesn't just matter to the rare disease community, they matter to all of us.

Beyond the Headlines: A Personal Connection

Recently, CNBC aired our one-hour documentary, 'CNBC Cures Defying Rare Disease.' Becky stepped out from behind the anchor desk to share her family's personal journey with her daughter Kaylie's SYNGAP-1 diagnosis. I am so so proud of her vulnerability and strength. The goal of this is to highlight funding, access, and support. It's a big and very important project and it's all very rewarding.
