- Bill Gates addressed his association with Jeffrey Epstein during a Gates Foundation town hall.
- Gates admitted to interactions with Epstein but denied any illicit activity.
- He also disclosed past affairs and discussions about them with Epstein.
- The Justice Department's release of documents continues to implicate various figures in Epstein's activities.
Another Day, Another Revelation
Right, so, it seems our old friend Bill Gates is finding himself in a bit of a pickle, or should I say, a pit of snakes. You know, like the one I stumbled into back in '36 searching for the Sankara Stones? Only this time, instead of venomous reptiles, it’s a public relations nightmare involving a certain Jeffrey Epstein. Apparently, Gates held a town hall meeting with his foundation staff to address the elephant in the room – or, as Marion might say, "a big, fat, hairy elephant!" The Justice Department keeps unearthing these documents and they seem to keep pointing in one direction... and it isn't good for Bill.
Denials and Diversions
Gates claims he "did nothing illicit" during his interactions with Epstein. Of course, nobody ever expects the bad guys to admit wrong-doing, do they? Remember Belloq, always insisting he was just a "scholar" while plundering sacred sites? Seems Gates met Epstein in several countries, probably swapping stories over tea and crumpets – or perhaps plotting ways to save the world, who knows? The article says Gates told staff members that he had an affair with a Russian bridge player and a Russian nuclear physicist and that associate Boris Nikolic had discussed those relationships with Epstein, according to the Journal. Almost makes you miss the good old days of simple treasure hunting. Speaking of treasures, the geopolitical landscape is always shifting and tensions are high: You can read more about it in this Strait of Hormuz Navigational Advisory Tensions Rise.
The Foundation's Take
The Gates Foundation, in true bureaucratic fashion, released a statement saying Bill answered questions on a "range of issues," including the Epstein files and the future of global health. One wonders if anyone asked about his hat size. A spokesperson noted that Gates spoke "candidly" and took "responsibility for his actions." Well, that's a start, I suppose. But as my father used to say, "It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage." And this story has plenty of mileage left.
Philanthropic Motives?
Apparently, some foundation employees interacted with Epstein to "secure potential funding" based on his claims he could mobilize significant philanthropic resources. The Foundation maintains they never paid Epstein and no fund was ever created. So, they were hoping to get money from him, probably so they could spend it on their noble efforts and do good. Sounds kind of dirty to me.
Damage Control and AI Summits
In an interesting turn, Gates won't be appearing at an artificial intelligence summit in India as planned. One wonders if he just doesn't want to bring more attention to himself during this controversy. AI is interesting. I once encountered an ancient oracle powered by something far stranger than algorithms, but that's a story for another time.
Lessons Learned?
The statement from the foundation emphasized the "horrific" harm Epstein inflicted. I sure hope that everyone learns a lesson from this situation. As for me, I'll stick to chasing after dusty artifacts. At least those don't usually come with a side of public scandal. And as always, I would like to say: "We are only the caretakers of these artifacts. They belong in a museum." or away from folks like Epstein.
