Ape-ocalypse Now
So, I heard about this thing with President Trump's Truth Social account. Apparently, some video showed up with former President Obama and the missus lookin' like... well, monkeys. Mmm, monkeys... reminds me of the time I tried to train a monkey to fetch me donuts. Didn't end well. Anyway, lots of folks got their undies in a bunch about it. I'm no political genius, but even I know that ain't a good look.
The White House Shuffle
The White House, they were all over the place. First, the press secretary, this Karoline Leavitt lady, says it's just a meme, like a *Lion King* thing. Then, BAM, they're sayin' it was a whoopsie by some staffer. A staffer I tell ya. Sounds fishier than a Krusty Burger left out in the sun. But hey, maybe the video was just trying to illustrate political dynamics, just like Japan's Political Earthquake The LDP Secures Supermajority. One thing's for sure, somebody's gettin' a paddlin'.
Republicans Gone Wild... Or Mild
Even some of Trump's own team thought this was a load of barnacle. Senator Tim Scott, usually a big fan, said it was the 'most racist thing' he'd seen out of the White House. Whoa, even for politics, that's sayin' somethin'. And this other guy, Rep. Mike Lawler, he said it was 'wrong and incredibly offensive.' Sounds like someone's in the doghouse... and not the cute kind with the squeaky toys.
Blame it on Black History Month
The NAACP, they were not thrilled. They said this video was a 'stark reminder' of how Trump and his followers see people. Ouch. Reminds me of the time I accidentally insulted Mr. Burns during the company picnic. Doh. But seriously, this is happening during Black History Month. Timing is everythin', even in politics.
Democrat's Reacting
Democrats like Hakeem Jeffries and Gavin Newsom wasted no time callin' out the video. Jeffries called Trump a 'vile, unhinged, and malignant bottom feeder'. Those are some strong words, even for Washington. Newsom just said it was 'disgusting'. Guess they won't be exchanging Christmas cards anytime soon.
Don't Have a Cow, Man
Look, I'm just a simple safety inspector who occasionally writes for the news between donut breaks. But this whole thing smells worse than a week-old shrimp. Whether it's a meme gone wrong, a staffer's blunder, or somethin' more sinister, somebody needs to take a good look in the mirror and ask themselves, 'What would a donut do?' Mmm, donuts...
